Congratulations to all participants!

Second annual flamenco student expo was a huge success.

Lots of hair spray, layers of make-up, colorful costumes, and finely filed nails had a little to do with this year's students' success at Fronteras. All the countless hours of learning and rehearsing and the pride to perform paid off and showed beautifully.

Last years participants showed the evident improvement and new faces surprised the audience with their newly acquired moves and skills. We look forward to the next year's Fronteras!

United by Flamenco Cupids

Flamenco friendly restaurant owner exchanged a wedding vow in Florida this month.

Last Wednesday of every other month, Gilbert's Mediterranean café in Mid-town is packed full of flamenco aficionados. A local dance company, Perla Flamenca, has performed at Gilbert's restaurant for over 2 years now.

In April of 2005, Becky Long joined the cheering crowd of flamencos to see her friends performing at the restaurant where she was introduced to great food, exciting atmosphere and Nisan Yeremyan, one of the two brothers/owners who has operated the restaurant successfully for over 6 years. Since then, Long and Yeremyan fell in love and held their wedding ceremony on the white sand beach in Destin, Florida. The wedding celebration continued to the weekend after at a reception with their friends and family.

Congratulations to Becky and Nisan from all of your flamenco friends!
